Upcycled Projects and Workshops
Teaching experience: Taught art, craft and design to a diverse range of ages, abilities and experience. Taught workshops at the Patchogue Arts Council, East End Arts Council, Gilda’s Club NYC, The Creative Center NYC, NYU Langone Hospital and adult education programs in Sag Harbor, East Hampton and Westhampton Beach.
Planned an innovative age appropriate arts curriculum based on recycled/repurposed design for three hundred children, ages three to thirteen at the Art Farm in Bridgehampton. These classes were taught by me and three other art teachers. Collaborations with my fashion design students were featured in the windows of Donna Karan’s Urban Zen and Collette in Sag Harbor.
Education and Training: BFA Fine Art from Arcadia University. Suffolk BOSCES Arts in Education Training. Artist in Residence in Healthcare and Creative Aging Certification, The Creative Center.
Awards: Blue ribbon for my recycled accessories workshop at World Maker Faire in New York. New York Foundation for the Arts MARK Award.
Publications: My recycled design projects have been featured in Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine, Treehugger.com and Create Magazine.
Volunteer: Mending and costume jewelry repair at the North Fork Environmental Council Repair Cafe. Exhibition planning committee, exhibition hanging and graphic design for Gallery 90, Ketcham Inn Foundation
