Deconstructed Collage

I'm in a really messy mood today so I knew I had to try something new and get my hands dirty. I started by making a collage with lots of color and texture with the intention to rip it up and add mixed media. I really had fun with the textural elements (part of a potato sack, a cocktail parasol, leaves and string) and the ripping process. After I'd ripped much of the collage away I added acrylic paint, extra paper and pastels. I'll be using this technique again to work larger and plan to simplify the design.
